Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2018 Worked perfectly for HP Graphing Calculators HP-48G and HP-49G with Windows 7 Pro 圆4 Uninstalling/reinstalling the UIC allowed it to begin communicating, and then I plugged in the Sabrent, and it worked flawlessly. This device and the Allen Bradley 1747-UIC (DH485) tried to share the same port. Today I connected it to another Allen Bradley PLC, but had to spend about 30 minutes working through a port conflict. It connected beautifully the first time I hooked it up to a SLC 5/03. I'm a controls engineer, and I bought this specifically for PLC programming, and HMI file transfers. Before I left site last week I ordered this cable, and hoped for the best. Besides the hours wasted trying to get this to work, it cost me another 10 hours of driving, and two additional nights in a hotel to finish the job.

I spent hours last week trying to get either of these to work, but the lack of driver support has relegated them to the scrap heap.

The Keyspan adapters worked beautifully, but after Tripp Lite bought them they quit updating the drivers, and the device doesn't work with win 7 pro 64 bit machines. Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2016 Solid Comm Cable for PLC and HMI applications.

Normally, I try to avoid 3rd party drivers due to security reasons.

I had to download and install USB to Serial drivers from a 3rd party website to get it working with our pole display devices. Unfortunately, I have to knock 1 star as this product's included drivers (via PC) would not work with Logic Controls serial pole display. Fortunately, this cable is the solution we need as a workaround to use the new PC's USB port to read as serial port. Unfortunately, we do not want a bulking desktop PC on these cash register stations with a 3rd party serial card. It's 2021 already and many PC's no longer include serial ports for legacy devices. My workplace have PC based cash registers for customer point of sale purchasing. Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2022 Work with Logic Controls serial pole display. UPDATE: 1/4/21 This cable works so well I bought another for a second project car for Wideband datalog use. Worth the money instead of fighting with some generic cable like I did. Plus the cable was long enough to tuck away and store when im not using it. Works perfect, I would recommend this cable to anyone who is trying to datalog their AEM afr gauge on their laptop. Once that completed I hooked the RS-232 side to my wideband and the usb to laptop. I didnt even have to search for drivers! Just plugged the cable into my tuning laptop, it installed it and got it all setup. That didnt work so I bought this cable w/ the "FTDI" chipset and it works flawlessly. Originally I had some cheap cable with the "Prolific" chipset. I was having difficulty trying to connect my AEM wideband gauge to output signal to my laptop to datalog my 2011 WRX for tuning on the ecu. Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2020 It is of good quality construction and has worked perfectly for me with a piece of equipment that would not accept the output of a cable with a Prolific chip.Ĭonfirmed Fitment with AEM Wideband (9600 Series) and Open Source Romraider for Subaru The FTDI chip appears to have a proper level-shifter built in, as it puts out about +/- 7 volts DC from the +5VDC USB power supplied. Please see the photo for an actual signal put out by this cable as seen on my scope.
