He said I could take pot luck and format!!I managed to install files by adding another video card (the m/b had integrated video) I then reinstalled windows and it recognised card and installed files. I told him their floppy would not recognise new cdrom, he said when you want to add any major hardware you must send back to them they then encrypt info onto your H/D and make up another boot up floppy. You must boot with floppy which then boots to CD and installs windows.

I contacted Packard Bell, what happens is they zip and encrypt all info onto their hard drives with matching floppy and master CD. The currently listed bootable partition is the failed windows install. I had already tried everything you suggested with no luck. I have tried to change the boot process from A to D drive and used the CD boot disc but ignores this and goes straight to starting windows and then message need VXD file. This computer also has a Packard Bell floppy boot up disc, trouble is customer changed the original CDrom and the boot up disc will not recognise the new oneand will not continue boot up process. this comes with the Packard Bell boot up CD disc.
